KUALA LUMPUR, 18 July 2025 – Halal Development Corporation Bhd (HDC) has successfully secured potential Halal trade opportunities worth approximately RM345.2 million during the JFEX Summer Show 2025 in Tokyo, held from 9 to 11 July.
According to HDC’s Head of International Cooperation, Mohamad Romzi Sulaiman, the participation reflects Malaysia’s strong commitment to expanding its Halal operations in Japan and neighbouring regions.
“HDC’s involvement at JFEX 2025 served as a strategic platform for 50 Malaysian Halal-certified exporters and export-ready companies to showcase their products and services to the Japanese market and surrounding countries,” he said in a statement today.
The exhibition aimed to promote the Halal Malaysia brand while creating high-value trade and investment opportunities for Malaysian businesses.
The event brought together food and beverage industry players, retail and distribution representatives, and international halal buyers.
Over the course of the three-day exhibition, HDC facilitated more than 100 business meetings between Malaysian exhibitors and high-quality Japanese and international buyers. This strong level of engagement indicates robust demand for Halal products from Malaysia, particularly in high-quality, niche segments such as halal-certified functional foods, snacks, beverages, and health supplements.
The HDC delegation also conducted market intelligence exercises and explored avenues for long-term Halal ecosystem partnerships, supporting the broader goal of positioning Malaysia as a global halal hub.
The participation aligns with Malaysia’s aspirations under Vision 2030 to strengthen its role in the global Halal supply chain and increase export opportunities in strategic markets like Japan.
HDC expressed optimism that the interest and connections made during the exhibition will translate into concrete trade deals, investments, and collaborations in the near future.
