The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has officially launched the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2026). Featuring the theme “Shaping Trust, Driving Resilience,” this edition signals a major shift toward a high-tech, AI-driven future for the global Halal economy

Driving Trade with Artificial Intelligence

A core focus of MIHAS 2026 is the integration of AI-powered trade facilitation tools. These advancements aim to streamline global trade processes, allowing businesses to navigate complex market demands more efficiently.

By leveraging AI, MATRADE expects to facilitate significant commercial outcomes, targeting a total of RM4.5 billion in trade deals. This strategy aligns with the National AI Action Plan 2026–2030, positioning Malaysia as a leader in digital Halal transformation.

Expanding the Global Halal Footprint

As the world’s premier Halal trade show, MIHAS 2026 will feature 14 distinct clusters, ranging from food and pharmaceuticals to Islamic finance and modest fashion. This diversity highlights the resilience of the Halal industry despite global economic uncertainties.

Key strategic goals for this edition include:

  • Market Penetration: Helping Malaysian companies reach emerging markets in Central Asia and Latin America.
  • SME Empowerment: Providing a global stage for Small and Medium Enterprises to showcase Halal innovation.
  • Sustainable Growth: Encouraging Halal practices that align with global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.

Digital Resilience with VH SMART

As MIHAS 2026 pushes the industry toward a digital future, businesses must ensure their internal systems are ready to meet international standards. Manual documentation and legacy processes can no longer support the speed of modern Halal trade.

To capitalise on the opportunities presented at MIHAS, companies are encouraged to adopt VH SMART™. This digital Halal Assurance System (HAS) management tool is designed to help industries transition from manual to digital effortlessly. With VH SMART, businesses can:

  • Automate Compliance: Stay ahead of international audit requirements with digitised records.
  • Ensure Traceability: Use real-time monitoring to guarantee supply chain integrity.
  • Enhance Precision: Reduce the risk of non-compliance through AI-driven document management.

By integrating VH SMART, participants can move beyond just “showcasing” their products and start managing their Halal integrity with the same high-tech precision seen at MIHAS 2026.
